BERLIN - 16/07 - Sacred Ground Festival - In Concert

It's interesting how you meet some artists all the time on the road and some you pass in a distance. Frank Wiedemann was for many years one of the later, until a couple of years ago when we played together in New York and then spent a day together. It was in many ways like meeting a brother i haven't met before. We share so many things; similar background and history, terrible and sometimes rather annoying humor but most important similar intention passion to encourage and inspire others to jam and improvise.

My latest attempt to do this is the Circle of Live project and one project Frank does to spread this passion is the Sacred Ground festival that he curates together with RY X.

I was invited to play a couple of years ago and I must say that it’s a little pearl of a festival that brings together bands and electronic music in a warm and free atmosphere. This year we are doing a Circle of Live jam for the opening ceremony at Sacred Ground, the brothers coming together :)

The festival opens one day earlier with only one stage open … there we will invite everyone to listen and dance to an improvisational journey in music. In true Circle of Live ethos there will be no planning, no rehearsals … we will allow music to grow together and you are welcome to let your experience happen with it.

For the first time we also have the honor to invite Ry X in the circle, unbelievably excited about that. Frank, Dorisburg, Ry X and myself … isn’t that a nice little ensemble? Btw … there are of course many things that differentiate Frank and me; he is much taller, he have a Memory Moog, he have a much more intellectual hair cut than I do (he especially think my neck curls are very funny … ) .. and he is probably slightly more funny than I am.
